CTA New Educator Weekend
The Merced/Mariposa Teachers UniServ Council (MMTUC) is offering 20 grants to attend the 2025 CTA New Educator Weekend in Burlingame, CA on December 5 - 7, 2025. This conference is for educators in their first three years in the profession. The conference has everything that educators need to be successful in their first years of teaching, including sessions about classroom management, creating engaging classrooms, lesson plans and ideas, connecting with your union, student loan forgiveness information, member benefits, project grants and more.
The deadline to submit your grant application is Friday, October 10th, 2025. Reimbursement will be made after attending the conference.

CTA Good Teaching Conference - North
The Merced/Mariposa Teachers UniServ Council (MMTUC) is offering 2 grants per chapter to attend the 2026 CTA Good Teaching Conference - North in Burlingame, CA on January 30 - February 2, 2026. The CTA Good Teaching Conferences supports excellent teaching and learning practices for classroom teachers via peer-to-peer instruction. Offering a variety of diverse workshops focused on curriculum content areas for K-12 teachers, the conferences provide opportunities for professional development and offer time to network and share ideas with colleagues and experts in the field of education.

CTA Organizing Academy - Formerly The Issues Conference
The Merced/Mariposa Teachers UniServ Council (MMTUC) is offering 2 grants per chapter to attend the 2026 CTA Organizing Academy in Las Vegas, CA on January 30 - February 2, 2026. This Academy will emphasize team-based learning, while still offering leadership & organizing centered electives for those attending individually. Chapters are strongly encouraged to bring two or more leaders who will work together on assessing and shaping your chapter’s future in an environment where you’ll share with other leaders from similar-sized chapters.
